Question 1

Can the departure time be changed after purchasing a ticket?

Accepted Answer

You can change the departure time by exchanging your ticket for another service instead of amending the date already paid for. On PolishTrains, the exchange takes place online, so you can set a new date without visiting a ticket office. The service fee added to the original purchase is not refunded in such a transaction.

Question 2

How long does the train from Wrocław Główny to Olsztyn Główny take without changes?

Accepted Answer

The journey time between these stations depends on the selected service and the number of stops along the way. You can read the exact time for the selected day in the PolishTrains search engine after entering both stations and the date. When buying a ticket for a specific service, you can immediately see the scheduled arrival time in Olsztyn.

Question 3

Which train from Wrocław Główny to Olsztyn Główny has the fewest changes?

Accepted Answer

Services running directly, without a train change along the way, have the fewest changes. Other connections usually run via Warsaw Central, Tczew or Poznań Główny, depending on the selected departure time. You can see all the options, together with the number of changes, in the PolishTrains search engine when searching for a connection for the selected date.

Question 4

What is better to check when buying a ticket: one carrier's app or a comparison search engine?

Accepted Answer

An app from one carrier only shows its own services, making it difficult to compare the entire route operated by different operators. PolishTrains brings available connections together in one place, and you can pay by card or BLIK without creating a separate account.

Question 5

How can I check a train's delay?

Accepted Answer

You can check the delay of the current service on the departure board at the station or in announcements from the carrier operating the train. PolishTrains shows the planned timetable, but the live status of the service is outside the scope of the site and should be checked directly with the carrier.

Question 6

How can I plan a longer train journey with a change?

Accepted Answer

It is worth planning a longer journey with a change by checking the entire sequence of connections at once, rather than just the first section of the route. In PolishTrains, you can search for the entire journey together with the suggested changeover point and choose a service suited to your daily plans. It is worth selecting a seat reservation when purchasing, so that you have a guaranteed seat on every section.
