Question 1

How can I check which platform the train departs from?

Accepted Answer

You can check the platform number on the station’s departure board, as PolishTrains does not display platform numbers. Before boarding the train, compare the designation with the service number on the ticket.

Question 2

Can you choose a specific seat on the train?

Accepted Answer

The option to choose a specific seat depends on the carrier, type of train and availability of reservations. On PolishTrains, you can select a connection and train category, while reservation information will appear during purchase.

Question 3

Do people aged 70+ have free travel on PKP Intercity?

Accepted Answer

Being aged 70 or over does not automatically mean free travel on PKP Intercity. On PolishTrains, you should select a discount only if the passenger is entitled to a specific discount.

Question 4

Which train is faster: IC or TLK?

Accepted Answer

The journey time is determined by the specific service, not simply by the IC or TLK category name. On PolishTrains, you can compare connections by stations and date, checking the time assigned to each option.

Question 5

My ticket did not arrive by email despite a successful payment – how can I retrieve it?

Accepted Answer

After successful payment, check your spam folder and search for a message containing the name PolishTrains. If the ticket is still missing, contact PolishTrains customer service and provide the transaction details.
